Successful introduction of FLOW-i to pediatric anesthesia in UK and Ireland

FLOW-i met the high expectations

In the UK, a group of children’s hospitals meets and shares information. A success story soon spreads through this network. The meetings, the involvement of the Key Opinion Leaders, and the peer-to-peer reviews left hospitals eagerly anticipating the arrival of FLOW-i; the machine did not disappoint in clinical use.

Patients with challenging respiratory requirements were ventilated safely and successfully, and theatre staff expressed genuine surprise that with FLOW-i, all patient categories can be anesthetized with more ease and success than with legacy machines. Additionally, the vaporizers need refilling far less frequently than before.

These meetings — the APA meeting in Leeds in particular — provided opportunities to establish the benefits of the products through expert support from Key Opinion Leaders, and positive peer-to-peer reviews.

Orders have been placed by Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, University Hospital Wales, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and a renowned children’s hospital in Crumlin, Ireland. Additional orders are expected from two other significant pediatric sites in the UK.
