Cardiac rhythm disorders are diagnosed and treated in different ways depending on the origin and type of disorder. Therefore, MAQUET Cardiovascular offers external temporary pacemakers for correcting abnormal rhythms following cardiac surgery together with a series of uni-, bi- and quadripolar temporary pacing electrodes. The primary use for these pacemakers is after cardiac surgery to treat and control bradycardia and tachycardia. These external  temporary pacemakers are also used for pre- or post-operative patient stimulation prior to or during surgery to replace an implanted pacemaker, and for certain electrophysiological investigations.
