Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting or EVH is a procedure used to obtain a healthy blood vessel that can be used during Coronary Bypass surgery to bypass the blockage in the heart. The first system for Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH) was launched in 1997 and to date over 1 million procedures have been performed.

MAQUET’s full line of endoscopic vessel harvesting systems are designed with unique features to meet the needs of the most skilled or novice users.  Each new generation of this unique technology has been developed in partnership with the specialists who use them in daily practice.

Now considered the standard of care, the EVH technique requires only a small incision. It can be used to harvest the saphenous vein from the leg or the radial artery from the arm, providing excellent conduit quality and hemostasis results. Removing the vessel by this method not only reduces patient discomfort and scarring, but recovery is much quicker. Growing clinical evidence points to the fact that MAQUET’s VASOVIEW Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting Systems enhance both patient clinical outcomes and satisfaction.

  • A less-invasive 2cm (1 inch) incision
  • Significantly less risk of infection and wound complications1
  • More rapid recovery and far less postoperative pain1
  • Minimal scarring for improved cosmesis1
  • Efficient harvest of either sapheonous vein or radial artery1

» Endoscopic vessel harvesting is the standard of care for vein harvesting and it should be. The conduit quality with EVH, overall patient satisfaction, and reduction in complications have made EVH the only way you should really take a vein.«  John Crouch, MD
