Left Heart Vent Catheters
Used to relieve the left ventricle during an extracorporeal bypass.
Vent catheters are used to relieve the left ventricle during an extracorporeal bypass. They are generally inserted through the pulmonary vein into the left ventricle.
The specially designed perforation profile of Maquet vent catheters ensures that tissue remains undamaged while guaranteeing effective fluid drainage.
All vent catheters are made of flexible, tissue-friendly and blood-compatible PVC. Reinforcing wires encased in the double-lumen tube ensure that the catheter can assume any shape. Line markings graduated in centimeters indicate the distance to the perforation for ease of use during surgery.
Our vent catheters are also available in a wide range of models, all with ¼ connection:
- with side perforation
- with side perforation and central opening
- various perforation lengths
- various sizes for pediatric and adult application
- pre-bent at 45°
- with integrated stylet
- various tube grades
- with vacuum valve to prevent adhesion to tissue
